Homeschooling a Child with Dyslexia or ADHD (Ages 5 – 8)
We recommend having the child watch these videos twice a week before getting to work in their Dyslexia Games Activity Books.
Let’s get started:
1. Download & Print Book 1, Art First. Download the book at our website for free today. Here is the link:
2. Set up an activity table in a quiet place – in the home or outside. The activity station needs to include four pages from the Dyslexia Games activity book. Also have black a nice black marker available. Provide your child with some art supplies, like clay and colored markers.
3. Turn on the 1st Art & Logic video for your child.
4. After your child watches the video he will be ready to put what he sees into action. Don’t be surprised if your child goes in search of supplies that you didn’t think of! He may even need rocks, leaves and dry pasta for his project!
5. Set your child free to be creative. Make sure that after watching this video he does not proceed to play videos games or watch TV – He must engage in creativity immediately.
How the Videos Work:
Each video starts with a quick Art & Logic demonstration inspired by a page in a Dyslexia Games activity book.
There is no speaking, only classical music, we want the child to be able to think without distraction while watching.
Parts of the video show children doing interesting educational activities, learning, playing, and being creative at home.
Another important part of this video is the actual mind training therapy where Sarah Brown, a creative learning specialist, uses art games, clay letters, drawing demonstrations and pattern games to help correct the symptoms of Dyslexia including reading problems and concentration problems.
While the child is busy being creative his brain is making strong new connections to help him to be more successful in reading and writing!
